Director Kim, who met with the Mail Business at the Baekbeom Kimgu Memorial in Yongsan, Seoul on the 12th, said of UNESCO's decision, "I think it means that my grandfather's life and spirit have been recognized as universal values that humanity will remember together beyond Korea." Director Kim said, "We will try to spread the life and thoughts of my grandfather not only at home but also abroad."





He also mentioned that research on the spirit of Baekbeom should be accelerated in Korea. According to Director Kim, the interpretation of Baekbeomji has not yet been completed. Only about two-thirds of the original has been interpreted. In addition, research on the contents and sentences that Kim Gu wrote and deleted needs to be conducted.

It is also necessary to accurately, easily, and interestingly convey the spirit of Baekbeom to the next generation. As a result, the memorial hall is diversifying its exhibition methods. On the first and second floors of the permanent exhibition hall of the memorial hall, there are digital books that you can read directly by turning over the bookshelf of Baekbeomilji, and "Baekbeomilji Archive Wall" where you can look into the contents of Baekbeomilji by person, event, and location.

"I don't think the memorial should stay in a space to remember and celebrate historical facts," he said, adding, "I hope it will be a place where my grandfather meets his dream of Korea and his vision for the future, and where each visitor can think about what kind of future I dream of and what I can do for our society and the Republic of Korea."
