With the August 17 National Convention of the Democratic Party of Korea just two days away, competition for party leadership is intensifying to the last minute. As the battle between the candidates intensifies, there are concerns inside and outside the party that the conflict within the party could prolong after the national convention.

According to the political circle on the 15th, the Democratic Party of Korea went beyond policy competition between candidates during the national convention and continued to have emotional battles. Candidate Kim Min-seok and candidate Chung Chung-rae clashed over the "betrayal" and "refutation" frames, and allegations of intervention in the Shincheonji primary and illegal phone calls have even led to ethical inspection and disciplinary action within the party.

Conflicts among supporters are also alarming. Some of the pro-Myeong and pro-Cheong supporters even criticized each other, and some interpreted that such a division led to a decline in the party's approval rating.

The party leadership is also aware of the seriousness and is focusing on resolving the conflict.

Acting leader and floor leader Han Byung-do repeatedly called for the party's unity after the convention, saying, "We must compete fiercely, but we must become one after the competition."

"The heat of competition is the driving force of integration, and each candidate's vision should be gathered as the assets of the Democratic Party and become one Democratic Party and a stronger Democratic Party and run vigorously again for the success of the Lee Jae Myung government and the better life of the people," he stressed.

Supreme Council members also stressed the need for integration after the convention.

"Many party members are sometimes disappointed and sometimes worried about the sensitive language of division and the aspect of exclusion in our party," Supreme Council member Park Kyu-hwan said. "Some people doubt that the Democratic Party has lost its way."

"For the success of the Lee Jae Myung government, the Democratic Party of Korea should unite and unite Democrats and supporters," he said. "There should never be any act of separating, alienating, or even excluding and removing members and supporters."

In fact, the last message of the current leadership is focused on "integration." Some analysts say that this is proof that the conflict within the party has become serious after the party convention.

In the meantime, party leaders are also emphasizing integration after the national convention.

Candidate Kim Min-seok said at the last TV debate of the August 17 National Convention on the 12th, "There have been debates and conflicts during the convention, but after the convention, we will unite the party well to support the state administration and lead the way to victory in the general election."

When asked at the "News Factory" if Kim Eo-jun's humility is difficult, Chung Chung-rae also said, "I will embrace Kim on a grand scale."

Candidate Song Young-gil also said in a recent interview with Maekyung AX, "I am not too worried about the aftermath of the competition," adding, "If I become the party leader, I will embrace it in an inclusive manner."

The new leadership, which will be confirmed on the 17th, will take on integration within the party as the first task. The first test of the new leadership is expected to be how quickly to seal the conflicts and resentments accumulated during the fierce competition for the party's leadership and tie the party into a "one team."
