The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 13th that it has approved Bonzo Capsule, a rare drug for treating myelofibrosis developed by CTI Biopharma, an American biotechnology company.

Myelofibrosis is one of the bone marrow proliferating tumors and is a disease in which fibrosis progresses in the bone marrow tissue that is responsible for hematopoietic function, preventing normal hematopoietic function.

This crude capsule is used for the treatment of adult patients with secondary myelofibrosis who developed after primary or intrinsic erythrocytosis or essential thrombocytopenia.

It is expected to provide new treatment opportunities for severely ill patients who cannot use existing treatments.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety calls the drug "Global Innovation Product Rapid Screening Support System (GIFT)." It was designated as No. 32 and a rapid review was conducted.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said, "We will do our best to expand treatment opportunities to patients by quickly reviewing and approving treatments that have been sufficiently confirmed in safety and effectiveness based on regulatory science expertise."
