According to the fashion industry, products emphasizing natural silhouettes and practicality based on 'Quiet Luxury' are being released one after another in the fall and winter (FW) handbag market in 2026.

Especially eye-catching is the shape of the bag. In the meantime, in the handbag market, structural designs with hard and angled bodies or small mini bags have been strong. However, this fall and winter, a slouch silhouette that seems to flow smoothly is emerging.

The slouch bag is characterized by natural wrinkles and sagging down when holding the bag by utilizing the flexibility of the leather or material itself. Rather than maintaining the shape firmly, the shape changes naturally according to the body, so you can create a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere.

This is also in line with 'quiet luxury' that has recently penetrated fashion. Rather than revealing the brand with logos or colorful decorations, the flow of focusing on essential designs such as materials, silhouettes, and finishes is also reflected in handbags.

The East-West silhouette, which was popular last spring and summer (SS) season, is also expected to continue until fall. However, the shape and size are changing in a more practical direction.

In particular, "Commute Bag," which has ample storage capacity, is drawing attention as the demand to solve it with a single bag from work to travel and daily life is growing. Rather than a mini bag that can only hold small belongings, a "big bag" that can put laptops, tablet PCs, and pouches is growing its presence again.

The fashion industry believes that "practical luxury" will be an important pillar of the bag trend this fall, beyond just carrying a large bag. It is explained that interest in highly utilized products is growing as they contain work products on the way to work and can be used for daily use after work.

In color, burgundy is growing its presence. It is a deep red series that acts as a subtle point between black and dark brown, and it is characterized by being able to express the weight and luxurious atmosphere unique to autumn and winter at the same time.

The competition for materials is also fierce. Suede, which has been popular since last year, is expected to continue its strength this fall. In addition, soft-touch leather and brushed texture materials that lightly scratch the surface to enhance the texture are added, and "bags you want to touch" are attracting attention.

In the high-end line, products using exotic leather such as Crocodile and Lizard are also appearing. Fur bags emphasizing autumn and winter seasonality are also proposed as point items, and there is also a movement to differentiate themselves through materials.

Lee Eun-jung, head of LF Hedges Accessories BPU, explained, "In the end, the key to this fall's bag is 'draining'," adding, "The shape naturally sagging, the size has grown, and the material has become softer and richer."
