Onde is a technology company that focuses on on-demand services, software for ride-hailing and taxi services. The company was started in May 2011 in Minsk, Belarus under the name TaxiStartup. In March 2019, it changed its name to Onde. The headquarters are in Tallinn, Estonia.
History
[change | change source]Onde was founded in 2011. At the time, its name was TaxiStartup.[1] In 2013, the company released its first apps for passengers and drivers.[2] In 2015, as an Estonian company, it received a €100,000 grant from the IMPACT Accelerator.[3][4] By 2017, it had more than 100 clients worldwide.
In March 2019, the company changed its name to Onde. It also started hosting the Ride.Right.Now conference for ride-hailing and taxi companies. The first event took place in Minsk in October 2019. In 2020, it was held online, and in 2023 it took place in Dubai.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Onde worked with the Red Cross in Belarus to deliver groceries to elderly people.[5][6][7]
In 2021,it launched its first batch of accelerator program called Onde Factory.
In 2022, Onde partnered with Playfood to make a Super App that joined ride-hailing and taxi services with food and grocery delivery. Playfood became part of Onde in 2023.[8][9]
Also in 2023, Onde introduced an Onde.Light. It is a free service for people who start their business in ride-hailing.[10]
In 2025, Onde opened a new office in Dubai to serve its Middle East and Africa clients.
Activities
[change | change source]Onde makes a cloud-based dispatch platform with white-label apps for ride-hailing, taxi, and delivery services. The main products are customer app for passengers to book rides or other services; driver app for drivers and couriers to manage orders and earnings; my hub for business owners to manage drivers, payments, and analytics, operator app for call centers and operators to assign and follow orders, web app for making orders online without a mobile app.[11]
It also has Super App that combines Onde and Playfood services for transport and delivery and Onde.Light – a free starter version for small ride-hailing businesses.
Operations
[change | change source]Onde works in more than 70 countries. Some of its biggest markets are Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada. Clients include Ride (Ethiopia), Kaiian and Wsslini (Saudi Arabia), Tirhal (Sudan), Livre Brazil (Brazil), and many others.[12][13][14]
Onde has offices in Tallinn and Dubai. Employees are based in several countries, including Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Georgia, Indonesia, Philippines, and South Africa.
