  • Coordinated with SD-WAN

KYIH · Keep Your ISP Honest

You pay for 500 Mbps.
Are you getting it?

Most businesses have no idea what their actual internet speeds are — they just trust their ISP's invoice. KYIH changes that. We test, document, and report your real performance continuously.

01

Install monitoring agent

A lightweight agent runs speed tests on a schedule from inside your network.

02

Collect baseline data

We establish what your speeds actually look like across time-of-day and day-of-week.

03

Compare vs. contract

Your actual throughput is compared against your advertised service tier and SLA.

04

Report & dispute if needed

We produce documentation you can use to get credits or renegotiate your contract.

Sample KYIH report
Advertised speed500 Mbps
Average measured487 Mbps
Peak hours drop310 Mbps
SLA compliance94%

KYIH data also feeds into HawaiiData.ai's network dashboard — correlating internet performance with call quality, AI response times, and support ticket spikes.

03 / OUR STORY

Hawaiʻi's oldest ISP. Born local, stayed local.

Pali Kaʻaihue

When the internet first came to the islands, Pali Kaʻaihue founded Lava.net to give Hawaiʻi a way on — the state's first homegrown Internet Service Provider. For seventeen years, Lava.net was where local businesses, families, and institutions plugged in. The @lava.net inbox became part of the island's digital identity.

In 2011, Aryn Nakaoka — already running AlohaTone and Tri-Net Solutions — acquired Lava.net from Pali to keep the brand alive and locally owned. The mission stayed the same: reliable internet, real human support, no mainland call center. Today Lava.net's hosting runs on Tri-Net's private infrastructure and dovetails with AlohaTone voice and Nimble-HI IT.

Why a 1994 brand still matters

Local stewardship is the differentiator.

Every other Hawaiʻi ISP either got sold to a mainland conglomerate or shut down. Lava.net stayed in the family — handed from one Hawaiʻi owner to another, never to a holding company. That's why @lava.net addresses still work and the support line is still answered by someone on the island.

04 / EMAIL

Lava.net has been Hawaiʻi's ISP since 1994. The domain carries three decades of reputation. You're not renting a mailbox — you're joining a legacy.
