Have you noticed that ever since they charge $.10 per plastic bag at the stores, Albertson's has invested in thicker plastic bags? How does this compute? Have you notice that ever since Starbucks has eliminated their straw, they have created thicker sippy lids? This makes no sense.

This is vital step to ensure that “recycling” is just that, and not just a method of lining municipal pockets.

This is great, but we also need to demand more from the companies that are creating these virgin plastics. Cool a cola, nestle, etc. until these plastic options are off the market, people will keep buying them and be greenwashed. Pass laws that stop the greenwashing and production of virgin plastics!!!!

I don't think the answer is to litigate rich companies. We just need to go back to glass for our food and drink products. It tastes better and is better for you. A public promotion encouraging the use of glass over plastic would be a great start. Give people a choice between glass and plastic and I believe glass will win.

How about broadening the CA County limitations & guidelines on plastic recycling? Too bad that China won't buy our recycling (that is their "excuse" for the rules) with these items ... find another way to recycle them in CA.
