We’ve spent the last few years refining our approach to political content on Facebook, making it easier for people to adjust the amount of political content they see on Facebook.
Political content includes content that mentions:
- Governments
- Elections
- Social topics
You can use the political content control to adjust whether Facebook recommends or does not recommend political content in your Feed.
You can further personalize your Facebook experience using the customization tools available in your Content Preferences through Settings, or in just a few clicks directly within your Feed.
Manage political content setting in Content Preferences through Settings
- Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
- Click
Settings & privacy, then click Content Preferences.
- Click Political content.
- Select your preferred political content control setting.
- The Default setting suggests political content from profiles you don’t follow.
- If you toggle the control to “off”, we won’t suggest political content when we recognize it.
Manage political content setting in Feed directly from your posts
- Go to any post in Feed.
- Click
in the top right of the post.
- Click
Hide post.
- Click
Content Preferences.
- Click Political content.
- Select your preferred political content control setting.
- The Default setting suggests political content from profiles you don’t follow.
- If you toggle the control to “off”, we won’t suggest political content when we recognize it.
