If you help manage a Facebook Page, you may block certain words from appearing in comments on your Page. When people include a word you've blocked in a comment, we’ll hide the comment so that it doesn’t appear on your Page.
You can also block comments with profanity. Learn how to turn the profanity filter on and off for your Page.
If you have Facebook access to a Page, you can choose up to 1,000 keywords in any language (example: words, phrases or emoji) to block from comments on your Page.
We’ll also automatically hide variations of the keywords that you want to block so that the variations don’t contribute to the 1,000 keyword limit. Variations include common misspellings, plurals, abbreviations and words that use numbers or symbols. For example:
  • If you block the word “tree,” we’ll automatically block variations of that word such as: TREE, t.r.e.e., tr33, treee and #tree. This means that you don’t have to include these variations in your keyword list.
  • If we find keyword variations in your list, you can choose to remove them so that they aren’t included in your keyword limit.
Keep in mind: If you have task access to a Page, you can choose keywords to block in Meta Business Suite. We’ll automatically hide variations for keywords that you add, but you won’t be able to review or remove variations.

Keep in mind

You can only hide comments containing certain words from appearing in content you created. This setting does not affect the comments on other people's posts or posts you’re added to as a collaborator.
The profiles and Pages that created the comment and their friends will still be able to see the hidden comments.
You can unhide comments that contain blocked words by going to the comment and clicking Unhide.
