well how do you define product-ready? a product spec that looks ready but has no knowledge of the codebase may still be missing things... that's where doing it with AI as a verification is super useful imo, which is exactly what im trying

my little tool isnt replacing the PM tool, it's augmenting it... I just wish it was all one tool

that would definitely be bad, but honestly I don't think that's it. It happens sometimes but not enough to where I think it's a huge issue.

I will say, I do think the product spec needs to be verified against the code base in some way. That's part of this workflow I'm trying now, even though I wish it would be done for me

what kind of updates were you doing? we don't do any of that. just move them between ready for dev -> in dev -> in review -> ready for QA -> done

and even if you forget about doing that, no one will notice or complain, by the end of the cycle it all gets updated anyway

Most companies without a dedicated data team handle new questions the same painful way: someone writes a one-off SQL query or spins up a throwaway dashboard, and it either never gets reused or quietly becomes "the" source of truth by accident. My product is built to make that entire cycle unnecessary — metrics are defined once and governed, and from then on anyone can ask a new question in plain English through their own AI client and get a real, auditable answer on the spot, not a ticket in someone's backlog. It's less "AI replaces your analyst" and more "the 80% of questions that don't need a human in the loop stop needing one."

But maybe what's really happening is that all you've been building are small hobby projects where you can indeed knock them out in an hour. If so, good luck with that.

Meanwhile I'll get back to building my MVP. My last prompt took over 5 hours on fable, and that was just a small part of the project.

I think I understand the sentiment, but I'd be asking myself what you actually gain out of keeping it private.

Except if you are going to become a baker and share the recipe/cakes with others in an artisanal way, the recipe may as well not exist. So at that point it becomes a question of whether you'd want others to be able to share in your grandma's creation.

Is it ideal to be mass produced? I suppose not, there may be differences and it may not be as good... but it's between that and them not having it at all. And while you're at it, it may slightly improve your life (through the financial side of the deal).

Personally, I'd look into getting involved and making sure the company that's buying it will put effort into delivering a good product your grandmother would at least appreciate, even if it's not as good as your own homemade ones. If they can't do that, sure, pull out of the deal... and perhaps find another company. While you're at it, make sure that the rights you still keep make sense too - just in case you do end up wanting to start a bakery, or someone in your family does.

I just don't see the point in essentially gatekeeping it. It's not like you won't get to still bake these.

Ask it to write a code review guide, a walkthrough of how to gain confidence in the changes and review everything that matters in the right order.

While you're at it, probably best to ask for html as the artifact for this as well - much easier to parse than markdown is. As a matter of fact, I ask html for most things nowadays.

People have commented on the "bonding" part of your post already but I want to call out something else. You mention cuddling, physically being close to you, being affectionate... to some degree this may just be projecting human behavior onto a dog.

Some dogs do exactly this with some humans, but it's also perfectly normal for a dog to not do this with more than one person, or with no one at all.

I think I have a good bond with my aussie (about to turn 3), I'm single and live alone so I'm his whole world I think. But he doesn't cuddle. He more or less knows the word, and if I'll "ask" him to cuddle he'll just stand there and turn his head away. Not interested. There was a time where I'd just try anyway and he'd just pull himself away.

Not every dog is going to be super cuddly, and that's fine. Some just like a bit of space

Even if your prompt is based on a real edge (which I doubt), this is not a strategy.

You can't rely on an LLM to make these kinds of decisions because they are non-deterministic by design. If the model changes or its weights get tweaked, your account could get blown. They could update to a newer model, where your prompts might not work. They might sunset the model you currently use.

Cool little project, fun to experiment with... but this is about as good as telling an LLM to put it all on red in roulette.

Looking at your other comments I have a hunch you're working for vtxmacro and just trying to get people to spend money there.
