I took this last month, on this morning I got some of the best light I ever had. I have a lot more photos from that morning up on my website if you would like to take a look. https://georgepavi.com/summer26

My first 6 months of Street Photography, photos taken in California, Las Vegas, DC, Amsterdam and Rome. by GeorgePavi in streetphotography

These were taken October 2025 through April 2026. After that I stopped shooting street on film. If you're referring to my landscape photos, I've been shooting landscapes for 13years.

Accuracy is overrated in automatics and chronometers are generally a waste by Effective-Fault-2478 in watchHotTakes

They kinda do, the law of diminishing returns is much stronger in the case of watches than for cars because you can get a watch for $20 or one that costs as much as house. But like a Tesla Model S plaid wiped the floor with all hypercars in straight line speed when it came out, it was 10-30x cheaper than them.

Track performance is different of course but just how most submariner owners don't scuba dive, most fancy car owners don't track their car. So in everyday life it really doesn't matter what you drive.

Has any music legend seen a sharper reputational decline in the 21st century than Eric Clapton? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

Kanye is a weird one, obviously he's said incredibly horrible things and comeback multiple times from them. Plus his mental health has basically been in some what a flux but overall trending down since he first disclosed he was Bipolar so it's hard to really know, how much to attribute all those things he's done/said to that.

I'm not defending him. I basically gave up on his music since "Jesus is King" came out, and haven't payed attention to him since then. He had a solid run til then.

The confusion is around the genuine excitement part. It's weird in context, the title is obviously clickbait. Thanks for the engagement.

Fair enough, I like it because first of all it was taken in Santa Cruz, so that immediately gives it a sense of place. Second, I like the contrast between the lonely onlooker and the swing dancers partying.

Had to look up what you're referring to because I remember reading the description of the sculpture to make sure. No it's from February of this year. The sculpture now lives at the Circa hotel, good memory tho.

Anyone running their X100VI with "naked" lens? by Proximer in x100vi

[–]GeorgePavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run it with no filter but a lens hood. Here is my exact reasoning.

I don't want another piece of glass in front my lens.

The hood is there for rain and not really for weather sealing reasons but to stop from droplets getting on the lens. It's also there so I don't need to put a lens cap on it when it's hanging off to the side it can bump into stuff without me worrying about the front element getting damaged.

I'm ok with the lens hood bulk personally. So I never take it off.
