Cloud App Updates
Work with your knowledge base across multiple devices using cloud sync and storage.
An interactive Basic Memory app in MCP conversations
Compatible MCP clients can now open a focused Basic Memory workspace directly in the conversation. Browse projects and folders, search notes, follow wiki links, explore the knowledge graph, edit notes, toggle tasks, and review suggested changes without leaving the chat.
Ask your assistant to “Open Basic Memory” or “Open Basic Memory search for…” to use it. See Pocketbook.
Comments and suggested edits
The Cloud editor now renders portable CriticMarkup as an actionable review workflow. Select text to add an attributed comment or propose an insertion, deletion, or replacement. The review rail keeps open items beside the document, with replies and resolve, accept, or reject actions.
Connected agents can leave the same review markup, giving you a change-by-change approval flow instead of an immediate rewrite. See Comments and Suggestions.
A redesigned web app
The Basic Memory web app has been rebuilt around a fast, three-pane layout (sidebar, note list, note detail) where notes open ready to edit.
- Three editing modes — a Rich editor for WYSIWYG writing, a Source mode for plain Markdown and frontmatter, and a Preview with clickable wiki links.
- Projects at a glance — browse and manage every project in your workspace from the Projects list.
- Share notes — create a public, read-only link for any saved note.
- Keyboard-first — a command palette (Cmd/Ctrl + K) and shortcuts for everything.
- Live updates — see changes made by your agent in real time, and save your own changes instantly.
For the full walkthrough, see the Web App Guide.
Teams
You can now share a cloud workspace with your team. Invite members by email, assign roles, and collaborate on the same projects — your AI assistant reaches team projects automatically across workspaces.
See the Teams guide to get started.
Shared Notes
Publish any saved note as a public, read-only link — anyone with the link can read it without an account. Create a link from a note's Share note action, then manage all your links from Settings → Shared Notes. Available in every cloud workspace, personal and team.
See Shared Notes for details.
Snapshots
Basic Memory Cloud includes point-in-time snapshots for backup and recovery. Create manual snapshots before major changes, or rely on automatic daily backups — from Settings → Snapshots or the CLI. See Cloud Snapshots.
File History
Every save now creates a new version of a note automatically. Open File history on any note to step through its timeline, compare versions, and bring earlier content back — the fast, per-note answer to "I want to undo something," distinct from workspace-wide Snapshots. See File History.
