Ian Ha reposted thisIan Ha reposted thisWe are thrilled to announce our co-lead investment in DiscoveryLoop, a public benefit company dedicated to fundamentally accelerating the pace of global scientific and engineering progress. The Discovery Loop founding team are the architects of modern AI and computing: Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals and Quoc V. Le. Together, they bring a rare, full-stack mastery spanning silicon design, foundational models and globally scaled products. Discovery Loop is building artificial intelligence to automate the experimental process itself. For centuries, the scientific method has been our most valuable algorithm, yet its execution remains a manual, sequential bottleneck. By autonomously proposing, running, and learning from thousands of concurrent experiments Discovery Loop is engineering the future of discovery. Read more about our thesis and why we are backing this extraordinary team: https://lnkd.in/dZRPfESB Discovery Loop is currently building a lean, in-person team in Palo Alto. Ian Ha shared thisSurprise! Turns out there's no free lunch with vibe coding. I guess the laws of physics do apply to us all. Damn. Software teams are going to come up against real constraints like build processes, merging giant PRs, solving under performant build processes, among many other things. Replacing a developer's pistol with a bazooka still means you have to manage proper software design, both culturally within your team, and process-wise. The best articulation of the long-term software costs of AI coding agents. https://lnkd.in/dUYX3wiE

Ian Ha posted thisAnthropic's incredible Q1 and $30B run rate means their bet on enterprise was the correct one counter to OpenAI's consumer play (Sora, anyone?). In that light, you can argue Anthropic's private valuation is undervalued. If you believe in winner-take-most economics, and that compute is now the "digital oil" to build and run all digital companies moving forward, the headroom for growth is massive. Add to this the swift executive approval to make room for labour-like spend, and competitive pressures to adopt and move fast, the global TAM for compute is literally the top-line of every P&L. This sure beats an ad model. I anticipate OpenAI to move aggressively into the enterprise as a result.

Ian Ha posted thisTwo minutes on AI-social media might lead you to believe you’re a loser if you’re not making $10k / month with OpenClaw and why don’t you just do something with your life for heaven’s sake for once stop sitting on the coach whatever happened to that nice girl you used to date start listening to your parents, OK? 😅 Personally, I don’t feel an urgency to build a business right this moment. Not in spite of things moving fast, but because things are moving fast. Because it’s a perfect time to learn. What’s actually working? Where is real value being created? What ideas now sound promising in five months become obsolete? What’s truly durable, defensible? I haven’t yet found a mental model that feels solid. Not to mention the immaturity of some of these tools. So I’ve decided, instead, to lead with curiosity, and play 🕺 . Taking the time to learn new things, expand my skills, let my mind wonder, and find new joys in programming again. Encounter new ideas, let them simmer, germinate. Something will come, it always does. It’s been a lot of fun so far.

Ian Ha posted thisThe “SaaS apocalypse” 🔥 isn’t just a replacement narrative because software is being commoditized. It’s a canary in the coalmine about how companies buy and run software. It’s not SaaS 2.0, it’s Agents 1.0. 📜 -> 🤖 Agents don’t buy SaaS. Agents run your processes and communicate with other agents. They don’t stare at dashboards, they interact autonomously with other agents. In a world where agents run your business processes, “buying SaaS” translates differently. A marketplace of agents will emerge. This is the market opportunity. Agents that you can buy, sell, interact with, and “hire” for the ones that already run your business. Have an internal agent that runs your sales cycle, but need to grow your lead-gen? Source a lead-gen agent to work with your existing processes, with minimal friction. No need to bolt-on and learn an entire SaaS solution. Agents allow you to find custom solutions autonomously with the right guardrails, context, and rules. When agents become more central to how you run your business, the software stack looks different.

Ian Ha posted thisBlock's 4,000 layoffs is a forcing function on other legacy companies to AI-ify their operations. If your competitor is reducing costs by 40%, you're already behind. This rush to reduce costs presents an opportunity. It allows for AI-first, agentic-native companies built today, to compete "from below" with incumbents on a cost basis, in ways that weren't possible before. Could you outflank a giant like Airbnb, in a niche market, with a simpler and cheaper subscription model, that Airbnb would never touch because their COGS don't allow it? This margin advantage will likely reduce over time as all businesses, like Block, become AI-native. But it still holds true, as Jeff Bezos aptly remarked: one business's margin is another business's opportunity.

Ian Ha shared thisHuge news today! I am incredibly proud to share that Sequence has been officially acquired by Polygon Labs 🚀🚀🚀. Together, we are creating a foundation that will accelerate Polygon’s Open Money Stack vision to move all money onchain, and lead the future of money and finance. A bold, and exciting mission. Seeing our efforts recognized in this way after eight years by a Web3 leader like Polygon should fill our entire team with pride. To the entire Sequence team, and in particular, and with immense gratitude, to my peerless co-founders William Hua, Peter Kieltyka, Daniel Racca, and Michael Sanders: THANK YOU. Building this company alongside you has been the greatest privilege of my career. From our first office in Kensington and the living room of Peter's condo, the sleepless nights building Skyweaver, the birth of Sequence, and the crazy luck of finding each other in this world, to now this–wow, what a journey! Your dedication made this possible. As for me, with much reflection, I have decided this marks the right time to explore other interests and passions, to take some time away from building, and to rest a bit. This is made easier knowing Polygon is inheriting an outstanding team. It's alway hard to leave what you made behind, but I'm excited to discover what's next. A big thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. And best of luck to the whole Polygon team! ❤️❤️❤️ https://lnkd.in/gi8cZK6GIan Ha shared thisBREAKING: Polygon to become U.S. regulated payments platform We’re acquiring Coinme and Sequence to bring all money onchain, adding regulated access in the United States, stablecoin orchestration, and wallet infrastructure to the Polygon Open Money Stack. → Regulated money movement in 48 states → Fiat on/off ramps → 50,000 fiat-to-crypto locations in the U.S. → Easy onboarding with wallet infra → 1-click crypto transactions across chains The vision is straightforward: enable instant, reliable money movement for anyone, anywhere. To do that, institutions and fintechs need a single, integrated offering — combining regulated access, stablecoin orchestration, wallet infrastructure, and blockchain rails. That’s where these acquisitions matter. Coinme brings regulated U.S. money movement, an on/off ramp network consisting of 50,000 U.S. retail locations, and licensed enterprise-grade crypto-as-a-service infrastructure, already in operation. Sequence makes onchain payments seamless, by abstracting away blockchain complexities for users. The acquisition brings smart wallets and Trails, their 1-click cross-chain orchestration and intents engine. Combined with Polygon’s battle-tested infrastructure, which has facilitated $2.2T+ in onchain value transfer, these components form the foundation for a fully integrated system to move all money onchain. Learn more about the acquisition and the Open Money Stack in the full announcement, linked below.

Ian Ha liked thisIan Ha liked thisStripe has signed an agreement to acquire OpenRouter! OpenRouter will continue to operate as it is: same name, same product, same roadmap, same mission. But now, we will do it faster, and with Stripe's unparalleled excellence and reach. OpenRouter is the first and largest model marketplace and gateway. We now process 10+ trillion tokens per day from 400+ AI models for a community of over 10 million developers and companies. Since our founding, we have seen at least 10x growth in inference volume every year. We started OpenRouter in early 2023 on a simple belief: intelligence will be multi-model. No single model will win every task, and the frontier will move rapidly. That freedom is critical for the industry. AI is too important for its future to be decided by whichever single model gets embedded first. AI has become the single largest driver of economic growth in the US, and inference is quickly becoming the largest line item for every company. We envision a healthy AI ecosystem where many models thrive, where AI neurodiversity is a strength, where a lab or an inference provider with a breakthrough can reach millions of developers, and where no single model becomes the default by inertia. Our mission is to realize this future, and it's more important than anything else. The opportunity with Stripe allows us to accelerate it together. To our customers: Thank you. We're honored to be part of your journey, and we're just getting started. OpenRouter's product, mission, and current commitments remain unchanged. Joining Stripe helps us pursue them faster, and our ability to support you will only improve. To our employees: I firmly believe that the next few years will be the most important time of our lives, and the most important for our mission. I am so grateful to have the privilege of being alive during this transformation for the world, and that I get to do it with you ❤️. You are some of the most brilliant, creative, curious, and determined people I've met, and I'm excited to grow our team for an even greater global impact. To everyone else who believes in our mission: come join us: https://lnkd.in/egFkhvRM. As we grow, we will relentlessly aim to preserve the velocity, agility, efficiency, and talent density of the 90-person startup that we are today.

Ian Ha liked thisIan Ha liked thisI run a five person team. None of them are people. When I started I was the whole agency. The researcher, the writer, the one chasing follow ups, the one checking the work, the one keeping clients warm. Five jobs, one me, and the growth capped at whatever I could personally get through in a day. The fix wasn't hiring five people I couldn't afford yet. It was building the five seats as agents, each briefed on how I work. The researcher never runs out of tabs. The writer drafts in my voice. The scheduler never forgets a follow up. The QA kills anything generic before it goes out. The account manager keeps every client warm without me remembering to. I stopped being the team. I started running one. The whole playbook is free. Find it below and please repost it for the founder still doing all five jobs alone. Give me a shout if you want the agency team playbook 👇

Ian Ha liked thisIan Ha liked thisToday's a big one. Kard has officially signed an agreement to be acquired by Citi! A day like this brings a lot of emotion, but first and foremost I’m proud of all that the Kard Krew, past and present, has accomplished. We built something special in a difficult and competitive market. We fought through the fintech winter. We fought through a global pandemic. And we came out stronger every time. We built a platform that gives millions of consumers more personalized rewards, drives real outcomes for merchants, and deepens engagement for our issuers. With Citi, our commerce media network can expand rapidly. This enables us to reach our vision of making rewards simple for millions of customers across the country. I'm fired up about what's next – working with the Citi U.S. Consumer Cards team, getting our platform into their products, and building towards what we've always wanted: rewards that feel tailored to each and every consumer, merchants that see real ROI, and issuers that build real loyalty. Lastly, none of this happens without the rest of the Kard family. The support from our friends, family members, customers, partners, and investors. Shout out to Underscore VC, Fin Capital, Tiger Global, and everyone else who backed us early. Thank you for everything you all did for us. https://lnkd.in/gajKtJNyCiti Expands Customer Engagement and Commerce Media Capabilities with Addition of KardCiti Expands Customer Engagement and Commerce Media Capabilities with Addition of Kard

I built my own AI operating system. Here's what that actually looks like. Everyone's experimenting with AI tools. I wanted to see what happens when you wire one into everything. My setup (OpenClaw) handles email triage, calendar scheduling, stock watchlists, voice note processing, overnight research jobs, and code deployments — all running on a Mac Mini at home. Here's a real example: I'm at the gym. I record a 15-second voice note describing a change I want. By the time I rack the weights, it's committed to the repo and live. No laptop, no terminal. I wrote about the full setup — what I built, what actually works, and what surprised me along the way. > Full post: https://lnkd.in/eYRZq4Jg The biggest takeaway wasn't about AI capability. It was about designing systems that stay out of your way — the same problem whether you're building for yourself or for a team of 200.

The IDE just became your most junior developer—and it works at lightspeed. 🚀 We’re no longer just typing code. We’re now conducting it. 🎼 AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot and Amazon CodeWhisperer are fundamentally shifting our role from "syntax writers" to "architecture conductors." The LLM handles the boilerplate, suggests algorithms, and even spots bugs—freeing us to focus on the bigger picture: design, strategy, and solving truly complex problems. This isn't about replacement. It's about elevation. 📈 Remember spending hours debugging a tricky null pointer? Or writing that same CRUD function for the tenth time? These tools absorb that grind, allowing us to operate at a higher level of abstraction. Our value is shifting from "how fast can you code?" to "how well can you design, guide, and validate?" But with great power comes great responsibility. 🤔 We must become expert prompt engineers, clear spec writers, and ruthless reviewers. The AI generates code—but we provide the context, the guardrails, and the final quality stamp. Our critical thinking is more vital than ever. The developer of tomorrow isn't just a coder. They are a system architect, a prompt maestro, and a quality guardian. Are you using AI coding assistants in your workflow? What’s been the biggest shift in your daily routine? Share your experience below! 👇 #FutureOfCoding #AIinSoftware #DeveloperTools #TechInnovation #SoftwareDevelopment #CodeGeneration #AIAssistants
