# New Relic & Better Stack integration

This integration allows you to create Better Stack incidents from New Relic automatically.

## Connecting New Relic and Better Stack

1. Go to [Integrations](https://uptime.betterstack.com/team/0/integrations/ ";_blank").
2. Click the **Importing data** tab.
3. Scroll down and look for the **Infrastructure monitoring** section.
4. Find the New Relic card and click **Add**.
5. In the new window, name your New Relic integration (e.g., `Backend service`) and click **Save changes**. Keep this page open. You will need it in a moment.

### In New Relic

1. Open the [New Relic Alerts & AI](https://one.newrelic.com/nrai ";_blank") dashboard.
2. Go to **ENRICH & NOTIFY** in the left menu → **Destinations**.
3. Click **Add a destination** and select **Webhook**.
4. Enter the **Webhook name**: `Better Stack Webhook`.
5. Copy the **Endpoint URL** from your Better Stack New Relic integration settings and paste it into New Relic.
6. Click **Save destination**.
7. Go to **ENRICH & NOTIFY** → **Workflows**.
8. Click **Add a workflow**.
9. Enter the name of your workflow.
10. Configure the **Filter data** section.
11. Click **Notify** → **Add channel** → **Webhook**.
12. In **Destination**, select the `Better Stack Webhook` destination you created above.
13. Copy the **Payload Template** from your Better Stack New Relic integration settings and paste it into New Relic.
14. Click **Save message**.
15. Click **Activate workflow**.

#### Payload Template is required
Without the Payload Template from your Better Stack integration settings, Better Stack can't parse New Relic alerts and no incidents will be created.

Now, when New Relic catches an incident, it will be sent into Better Stack.
